Dreams are messages that creator God gives us as we’re sleeping. Job talks about how God will speak to us and deal with us in our sleep. There are times in our daily life, our daytime life, where we argue or we have to reason that He doesn’t want us to try to figure things out. He wants us to receive the message that He’s given us. God has a very specific dream language. It’s more metaphoric- like parabolic. The way that Jesus spoke in parables. He wasn’t hiding information from us. What he was doing was he was hiding from the religious who couldn’t understand and didn’t have a connection with Him.
The metaphoric language of dreams is a whole different language. You’ve got to be able to understand the language that God speaks in, and you’ve got to be able to deliver it if you’re going to do dream interpretation for other people. Which by the way, is a very strong evangelistic tool such as prophecy. Prophecy is as the same.
The message in a dream can be a prophetic message, but it’s not the same as a prophecy. Remember, that prophecy is actually the testimony of Jesus. So it’s the Holy Spirit giving messages in dreams and the prophetic. So when you’re interpreting a dream, there are times when it will be delivered similar to a prophetic message. But the main difference between a dream and a prophetic word is really that a dream will very often have a response. You need a response. The dreamer needs to take some action and they have to understand the metaphoric language to do so.
Think about a log in your dream. Remember the scripture that says, don’t worry about taking the mite out of someone else’s eye when you have a log in your own. That’s Jesus saying that we must not judge, because we might have some big problems of our own. Think about it like this.- a log is also about construction. It’s about building something. It’s a tool, it’s a material to build. But if you had a log in a river and you were drowning, it would be something you’d hold on to for stability.
So you don’t want to forget to listen to your dreams because your dreams have messages that are strategic. They’re directional. Sometimes they’re warnings. These are very important messages that you need. Take a waterfall for example and listen to the sound. The water in the waterfall is about cleansing. I see, even now, someone who has been weary, maybe they’ve been performing maybe they’ve been working hard in the kingdom of God for many years, but now they are feeling distressed, worried and depleted. The waterfall, represents the reconciliation and refreshment that the Holy Spirit is bringing to your life. I see six months of rest and refreshing, so that you’ll be ready for a brand new season for the call of God on your life, because that’s your heart and you want to fulfill your purpose.
